Our Commitment
Safety is how we do adventure
At Raahi Club, we send strangers into the mountains together. That means safety isn't a checkbox — it's how we build trust. Every trip is planned with trained leaders, emergency protocols, and the care you'd want for yourself.
🧭
Trained Leaders
Certified trek leaders with first aid training on every trip.
🏥
First Aid Ready
First aid kits on every batch. Oxygen cylinders on high-altitude treks.
🚁
Evacuation Plans
Every route has a defined emergency evacuation protocol.
📡
Communication
Satellite/radio devices for areas beyond mobile coverage.
01 — Before You Go
Pre-Trip Safety Measures
- Route Assessment: Before every batch, our team assesses trail conditions, weather forecasts, and any local advisories.
- Participant Health Check: Participants declare medical conditions, allergies, and physical limitations at registration. High-altitude treks may require a medical fitness certificate.
- Pre-Departure Briefing: All participants receive a briefing covering route details, safety protocols, emergency contacts, and how to handle altitude-related illness.
- Equipment Check: All shared safety equipment — ropes, tents, first aid kits — is inspected before every trip.
- Group Size: Batches are kept at manageable sizes to ensure every participant gets adequate attention from trek leaders.
02 — On the Trail
On-Trip Safety Protocols
- Pace & Rest: Trek leaders monitor group pace, enforce regular rest breaks, and watch for signs of fatigue, dehydration, or altitude sickness.
- Weather Monitoring: Trips may be paused, rerouted, or turned back if conditions become unsafe. Safety always takes precedence over completing a route.
- No Solo Detours: Participants may not leave the group without explicit permission from the trek leader.
- Altitude Protocol: For high-altitude treks we follow strict acclimatisation schedules. Any participant showing signs of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) will be required to descend immediately.
- Night Safety: Head counts at every campsite. Participants are briefed on fire safety, wildlife precautions, and campsite rules.
03 — Emergency Response
If Something Goes Wrong
In the event of a medical emergency, injury, or crisis during a Raahi Club trip:
- The trek leader will immediately assess the situation and administer first aid.
- Emergency contacts of the participant will be notified as quickly as communication allows.
- The nearest medical facility, rescue service, or helicopter evacuation will be arranged without delay.
- A Raahi Club support contact is reachable throughout every active trip.
- All incidents are documented and reviewed to improve future safety protocols.
Emergency During a Trip
Immediately inform your trek leader. If unreachable, contact us at theraahiclub@gmail.com. For life-threatening emergencies, call 112 (India emergency services) first — always.
04 — Your Role
Participant Responsibilities
Safety is a shared responsibility. We ask all participants to:
- Disclose all medical conditions, limitations, and medications at registration — treated with strict confidentiality.
- Follow all instructions from the trek leader, especially regarding route decisions and turnarounds.
- Report any physical discomfort, dizziness, breathlessness, or unusual symptoms to the trek leader immediately.
- Carry adequate personal water, nutrition, and prescribed medication as briefed.
- Stay within the group at all times unless explicitly permitted by the leader.
- Avoid alcohol or substances that impair judgement during the trek or at altitude.
05 — Quick Tips
6 Things to Remember
1
Acclimatise properly. Never rush altitude gain. Follow your leader's pace.
2
Stay hydrated. Drink 3–4 litres of water daily at altitude, even if you're not thirsty.
3
Share your itinerary. Let someone at home know where you're going and who you're with.
4
Dress in layers. Mountain weather changes fast — always carry a warm layer and rain gear.
5
Trust your body. If something feels wrong, speak up. No summit is worth your health.
6
Get travel insurance. Cover high-altitude trekking and medical evacuation before you go.
06 — Community
Community Safety & Conduct
Raahi Club is a community built on trust and shared adventure. We have zero tolerance for behaviour that endangers or disrespects other participants.
- Any participant who endangers others will be removed from the trip without refund.
- Harassment of any kind — verbal, physical, or online — toward participants, guides, or local communities will result in immediate removal and possible reporting to authorities.
- Participants are expected to respect local customs, religious sites, and the natural environment throughout the trip.
We encourage everyone to report unsafe behaviour to theraahiclub@gmail.com. All reports are handled confidentially and taken seriously.
07 — Report
Report a Safety Concern
Before, during, or after a trip — if you have a safety concern, reach out:
- Email: theraahiclub@gmail.com (Subject: Safety Concern)
- Instagram DM: @raahiclub
- During a trip: Speak directly to your trek leader
All safety reports are treated as highest priority and reviewed to continuously improve our standards.
